The Sicamous Old Timers team roster is rife with talent. Most of that talent can be seen off the ice, but a talented bunch none the less.

Nickerson, Russell
|
G |
Russ has a head of hair that makes his follicly challenged team mates weep with envy. |
He's a goalie |
| 2 |
Todd, Barry
|
D |
A solid defenceman and an intimidating force, don't go in his corner. |
Suffered a potential career ending wrist injury, but battled back and is set to make his return to the roster. He missed the first 6 games of the 08-09 season so that he wouldn't become re-injured before a critical trip to Disneyland. WTF? |
| 3 |
Barber, Dave |
W |
A whirling dervish of a skater, you'll often find Dave waiting for a stretch pass in the neutral zone. |
Prone to Injury with several long stints on the IR |
| 4 |
Hogg, Doug
|
D |
Doug is a stay at home defenseman, with a great stick and the ability to poke the puck away and clear the zone of any offensive intrusions. If you take a high stick, save your teeth, Doug will put em back just like new. |
Was it the right knee? |
| 4 |
Lahoda, Chris
|
D |
A fast straight line skater capable of catching opponents that have blown by him in the neutral zone. |
Often panics under pressure and clears the zone without looking for passes. |
| 5 |
Blight, Mark
|
W |
A wiley veteran with quick feet. |
Discipline, he's seen the inside of the box a few times this season. |
| 5 |
Tucker, Travis
|
W |
The youngest player on the team, he seems to be able to skate without becoming tired. |
With a demanding job in the oil and gas industry he's only able to add his talent to the team two weeks a month. |
| 6 |
Sweetnam, "Scary" Gary
|
D |
Gary is the lynch pin of the defensive unit, his conditioning is such that he can jump up into the play and get back into position to help with the three on ones. Good for a goal at a key moment, or even for a morale boosting goal when down by six. |
Are those Cooperall's? |
| 8 |
Gordon, Greg
|
Not Defence |
Greg is a natural skater with a smooth even stride that allows him to put very little effort into moving down the ice, which he does often. He boasts a powerful wrist shot that often surprises the opponents and his team mates. |
The two B's - Back-checking (what is that?), and B-E-E-R. |
| 9 |
Vandooyeweert, "Alphabet" Ken
|
D |
He might know how to get us in to some old timer hockey tournaments! |
He's new, we're paying close attention and reviewing game tape, we'll find one eventually. |
| 11 |
Jones, Kyle
|
W |
Jones is all grit, tough in the corners, oppressive in the neutral zone. On pace for a career high in goal scoring this season. |
Shower mung phobia. |
| 14 |
Johnny |
W |
Hands |

Scrimbit, "Wheeler" Gerry
|
W |
Gerry is a utility player capable of filling any position he's assigned, strong on the puck and a devastating one timer. His goal scoring has been somewhat curtailed this season while filling in for missing defensemen. |
He has a weakness for the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the CFL in general that at times can cause him to miss games due to scheduling conflicts. |
| 22 |
Carr, "Ricky" Rick
|
W |
Rick gives 110% on and off the ice, he digs with every stride, and his door is always open at all hours to fellow thirsty team mates. |
His house is too close to the rink. |
| 44 |
Martin, Guss
|
C |
Player / Coach, and natural goal scorer. His tenacity and skill make him the heart and soul of the Old Timers. Another trait that makes him a valuable member of the team is prompt and consistent delivery of properly chilled Budweiser. |
He back-checks like crazy and makes the rest of the team feel bad for not doing the same. |
| 44 |
Bertram, "Pimp" Jaime
|
W |
A dynamic and charismatic individual on and off the ice. He should have gone in the top 10 in the 1995 draft but was overlooked much to the detriment of the NHL. |
How could a guy with that mug have any weaknesses? |
| 55 |
Cross, Kevin |
W |
He paid up for the year in his first start, securing his place on the team whether he makes the cut or not. A very astute move by the rookie. |
He's new, we're paying close attention and reviewing game tape, we'll find one eventually. |
